I coudn't get it to work on my 8100 , just got a message of unsupported device.
But jivetalk is a good substitute, its worth the 20/30$ you'll have to pay for a lisence

You should look up the thread where they have a workaround for that. I believe its a sticky in the third party apps section. I have windows live messenger on my pearl and it works fine.

Thanks Sci-Tek, I am aware and registered in both major third party IM client Jivetalk and IM+ but I'm looking forward to the native integration of the RIM Instant Messaging clients, specifically WLM as I've already tried Google Talk and Yahoo

But tried it. DM install says "No additional applications designed for your device where found".
I'll reload OS later..

OTA install atleast gives another error: HTTP error 500. Prolly server related tho.
