this rip-off of the public? Microsoft admitted today that it launched Windows 7 as a joke between 2 highly paid executives at the company.
Documents released today shows that a bet similar to the one placed in the 80's Film 'Trading Places' was behind the launch. A Microsoft insider revealed all "It appears that one executive bet another $100 that they could release any old crap and people would buy it!"
"Windows 7 is actually a repackaged version of Vista!" revealed Matthias Schmitz of German PC magazine 'Tekno-spunkz'. Schmitz went on to reveal "Executives just sat up all night and scribbled out Vista and wrote 7 over thousands of unsold Windows Vista boxes." They then made some posters and told everyone it was a new operating system.
Microsoft shares soared after the news today. "Microsoft had literally hundreds of thousands of copies of Vista left unsold, so this stunt has definitely paid off as they have got rid of almost all of them." said Schmitz.
No-one at Microsoft was able to comment as they were all out buying Ferrari's.
