Now powered by .NET CF 2.0 and SQL CE 3, brings much more features (including real-time display of information about current broadcast) and works for both Windows Mobile platforms: MS Smartphone and Pocket PC.

Yes, with Windows Mobile phones you can do something that you cannot do with Symbian phones, namely you can listen to Howard Stern live or ask Martha Stewart a question about lifestyle (yes, both Howard and Martha have live phone-in on Sirius!)
or listen to one of many excellent music channels of Sirius:

In USA there are 2 satellite radio networks - Sirius and XM - each offering many radio channels that are receivable also in moving cars, trucks, etc. Unlike satellite radio in Europe where fixed satellite dish is required, American satellite radio is better not only because it is more mobile, but also because it is totally not regulated - FCC has no say because both these radio networks are available only to paying subscribers - total freedom of speech without any limits whatsoever. Since Sirius network managed to snatch Howard Stern, the growth and content of Sirius is better than of XM. Sirius network has become a magnet for the best radio talent of USA and apart from Howard Stern many other presenters and entertainers are present there. There is even a tech show about computers with live phone-in on Sirius! Apart from many talk radio channels, also many music channels for various genres are available on Sirius.

Recently Sirius extended its offering of radio channels available over Internet (it now includes also Howard Stern, Martha Stewart, etc) and made it possible to purchase subscriptions also for people outside of USA. However Sirius is not providing playback possibility in mobile devices - just in personal computers - therefore 3rd party solution is needed to enable Sirius Internet radio streaming. For Windows Mobile SiriusCE was such a solution but now version 2 of this excellent program has been released and it brings much more improvements:

SiriuCE 2 is a complete rewrite of SiriuCE to take advantage of the .Net 2.0 compact framework.

SiriuCE 2 supports both WM5 smartphones and any other device that the .Net 2.0 CF will install on. Several other new features are the display of channel images, custom skinability (support for landscape, vga, smartphone, etc.), favorites, listening history, media player control, etc. SiriuCE 2 is still the same old "use at your own risk" deal, and it's free for download, but don't resell it or anything like that. This is its first release, and it should probably be considered "beta" still, so if you find something wrong with it, send an email to [email protected] with the word "SiriuCE" somewhere in the subject line.

This program requires .Net 2.0 and SqlCE 3.0, both of which can be downloaded in the full installer.

Now Sirius offers also Internet-only subscription (no need to purchase satellite receiver) that is available also globally (not just USA-only as previously) - to learn more about it offering click here. Hopefully this becomes a possibility on our S60's.

As of fp1, wma codecs (which the sirius stream uses) will be a part of the core os.. I'd imagine that someone will get sirius going at that point. I'm probably getting sirius this month, pretty stoked!

I'm getting Sirius for when I'm in the car (since streaming through my phone means I can't recieve phone calls).

With that 950mAh battery, you won't even make it through a single talk show The N95 looks awsome, but they should put at least an 1150mAh batt in there, the damn thing is pretty big anyhow.

If Sirius is using WMA to stream, you can listen to it using a Symbian phone NOW.

Theory:

- Get Slimserver (http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_features.html)
- Configure Slimserver to stream Sirius Radio
- Install S60 Radio and make a channel to access your Slimserver

Sounds kind of complicated......
Anywho, I LOVE having Sirius and also really, REALLY wish that I could stream it on my phone. Though, like I've said, if it was easy to do, the Stiletto wouldn't be so tempting.
Someone PLEASE make an app to stream Sirius on S60 V3!!

How do u use that app? Mine just asks to play existing files or something, i can't get it to stream anything......
 
if you pull up shoutcast.com on the web browser, you can click on any radio stream and it'll download the playlist, you save it under "shoutcast" and then pull up internet radio and it's under the station list. i listed to reggae when i wash my car every week like this.
 
I had the stiletto for 3 days....it's junk! Poor range with the wi-fi and fairly useless unless you have the actual car kit. The phone has a built in antenna but gets a signal boost with the most uncomfortable gawky looking headphones you've ever seen. What they neglect to tell you, is that you really MUST use the headphones and the antenna in the receiver may give you a slight boost. Not worth it!....550 is the bill to really enjoy it at home and in the car and it's just a poor first attempt.

Bring on the coreplayer for Symbian, already! After looking through their forum, they seem a bit shady (IMO). I'm really not buying their reasons for the delay in the S60 version.

Sorry to hear about the Stiletto, Greentooth. The wifi part doesn't bother me, tbh. Is the in-car reception that crappy without the car kit? I've been looking on fleabay, and they have them for around $270 for the radio only. Not sure about getting it off of Ebay, though....
 
No matter where I put it in my car it would not keep a stable signal. I run my current $50 receiver through the tape deck in my cherokee and I planned on doing the same with the stilleto and saving the bucks but unfortunately that didnt work out.....I returned the piece of trash and promptly purchased my 3rd Nokia 770 ...which is working splendid now that I have a Verizon Fios 30/5 plan So fast it's just disgusting!

...in fact, 2 things I didnt think I would use full time...Verizon, and Motorola. My fios TV box is a Motorola but damn if this isnt the fastest browsing I've ever experienced.
