Wind deflector for road glide

Thanks for the info man. Would you please report back on here about how they work when you get a chance to ride?

I also wonder if they would work on my '09 w/o mods? Wasn't there some fairing changes between the '09 and '10 RG's? Could that possibly be the only difference in the deflectors not fitting?

OK, first a caveat - wind on the front of any bike with a fairing is a complex thing and all of the elements - fairing, windscreen, lowers, soft lowers, etc work in concert to either make the rider more comfortable - or not. Case in point, prior to this year's run to Sturgis I purchased some of the "summer width" soft lowers. Did they work? Sure as long as you keep you feet on the floorbaords, as soon as I put them on the highway pegs the bottom of my pant legs would get pushed up over my boots... not a good look. Fixed the problem with a couple of big rubber bands.

My take is that on my 2010 FLTRX, with a 14" Windvest they help. My problem was buffeting, particulary when wearing a helmet at 75 to 85 mph. The deflectors for my bike have definitely helped with this problem and were worth the $30.

As far as fitment is concerned what changed was the diameter of the front fuel tank mount, apparently due to a recall as described eleswhere on the site. The mod I described will allow you to mount the deflectors on a bike with the larger diameter tank mount, albiet further away from the frame as they now go outside of the tank tab as opposed to inslde. With the pre-recall design they should fit just fine.

I put them on my 07 road glide and they make a world of difference. I am now happy with the RG vs the EG. I was almost ready to get rid of the RG because of the buffeting. Not now.

The box said fits 98 thru 10. They just snap on the crash bar and the front tank mount. Takes seconds to snap them on.

I think they will even be better with lowers. I am using a clearview shield stock height.
