hmm, im surprised NY didnt get this before Baltimore or ATL, and sprint and clearwire teaming up 4G, lol. i just know verizons gonna roll out theyr LTE (4G) all over nyc, guarantee itll be an LG, already made a phone and its verizons fav child.. lol comon T-mobile.. i know AT&Ts almost done with theyrs.. danm.. but by the end of the year id expect more android devices on diff networks.. maybe those android netbooks will start packing up some wimax cards, dell is already rolling with it. cool http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/dell-injects-wimax-into-trio-of-laptops/

this will be awsome, specially for u guys out there with those long ass commutes, i read u can roll at 70 MPH and still get a good reception.. and laptops coming with gps and all those sweet stuff now a days. HTC made a WiMax capable phone not too long ago, the speeds were insane

I live in Portland and work for a company that provides WiMax service (Clear Internet). It is awesome. I have had the service since January and I could not be happier. I canceled my Comcast home internet, because I can consistently pull down 6m/b, this is more than fast enough for anything I need. Thanks for all of the very imformative post on this forum. I just rooted and flashed to the new JF build with instructions I found on this board.

that aint even fair, the man is on 4g speeds already lol. yeah bro this is a great site filled of people who arent selfish at all, we just want every 1 to have the lates and greates. thats y "this community rocks!"

well, just like sprint which had a press conference today to announce 4g, tmobile had a press conference of their own( http://www.tmonews.com/2010/03/live-from-ctia-2010-t-mobile-hspa-event/ ) today they announced their hspa+ 3g data service, which promises speeds up to 21mbps. oddly, tmobiles 3g is faster than sprints 4g which promises speeds up to 10mbps.

i think we have to wait a lil more for varied results. but overall im a big red guy. if and when Verizon gets a crazy lte phone. im moving back. i however just love to see these companies pushing out the goodness no matter who it is. but yall remember the 700mhz spectrum or w.e. it was we had a bid for from the old analog tv signals wich google wanted to buy and give us free wifi but the gov said no. had a bid and verizon won. this is going to b strong for Verizon at the end of this year wich we should start seeing consumer lte service put out there.

t mos hspa is greeat and only in feb we nyc ers got an official taste. simms is a lucky bastard hes always got the craziest reception. i know our friend dayum has been enjoying hspa for a while now. overall good stuff. i want front facing cameras to start taking off and these speeds will make it easier .

and im still waiting for my phone from zii labs. not the Trinity anymore but a lte/4g phone. i drool over the stemcell processor if the hype is real

Google could have bought that portion of the spectrum had they wanted Juan, what they did do was put in a minimum (ie large) bid if the FCC would put certain clauses into the usuage of said spectrum. one of which was free use of white spaces which is/are the unused times/spaces within the spectrum. which I believe they got.

in other words Google had no intention of buying that unless it came to them at a rather good price (their minimum bid) and if they were outbid there are still ways they (and many other people/devices) can use the spectrum.

also in an interesting turn of events since the clause for use of the white spaces, Microsoft I believe has been pushing the development of devices to use the white spaces more then (I'm almost certain) any other tech company.

Google meanwhile is happy to have one more way for people to access the web.

Here's one more article on T-mo.
