will updating an apple iphone4 lock it?

It's not jailbroken. Atleast not that i know of. It came sealed in a box and it was locked. I plugged it to the itunes and it was unlocked. Will updating it to 4.2 lock it again? If it gets locked how do I unlock it? It's not a contract phone. Bought it from an apple store in Geneva.

Any help appreciated. Thanks :)
