Will Toy Story suffer the 3rd film curse?

I was thinking about how 3rd films usually suck for example

Shrek 3
X men 3
Matrix 3
Terminator 3
Oceans 13 wasnt great either

But Toy Story being such an iconic film i was wondering if it would suffer from this aswell i personally hope it doesnt cause i love the first 2.

What do you think?

I think Toy Story could yet again be the exception to the rule.

The Majority of Sequels are crap compared to originals, but I know a lot of people who see Toy Story 2 as better than Toy Story (Myself included)

So perhaps Toy Story 3 will be the exception to the rule about 3rd Films being even worse than the 2nd and it'll be even better than both 1 and 2.

I have high hopes and Pixar never disappoint.

Lasseter has the right attitude towarRAB... well everything it seems! But I trust him to know when it's right to do a sequel, they've only done it with Toy Story, and with outstanding results. I'm sure if the story was not up to his obvious high standarRAB it wouldn't get made. I don't think any of the other films would warrant a sequel, due to the completeness of thier particular stories, with perhaps the exception of The Incredibles, I think that has a lot more mileage, but as one hasn't emerged I'm willing to say I'm wrong about that.

WOW i started the thread before seeing the trailer i just watched the trailer and loved it i dont think it will suffer frm the 3rd film curse but i will not say anything else until i watch it.

When does it come out?

I think it may not be as good as everyone hopes cos everyone has such high expectations and remembers toy story 1 + 2 through rose tinted glasses.
But I have faith that it will still be good, the Toy Story team are soo passionate about it. Im pretty sure im right in saying that toy story 2 was completely re-written because they weren't happy with it before it came out!

What 3rd film curse?

The Return of the King
The Godfather Part III
Spider-Man 3 (best of the series in my opinion)
The Exorcist III
The Bourne Ultimatum
Heimat 3
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Return of the Jedi (episode VI, but still the third freakin' instalment)

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (great end to dollars trilogy)
Goldfinger (one of the best Bond films ever, if not the best)
Day of the Dead (solid zombie film)

I agree with this also the 3rd Godfather gets bad reviews it isnt a bad movie just the first 2 were so good anything after that would get bad reviews.
