will this work in the army?

i joined the army and i ended up 88M. ive decided i want to become a ranger and yes i know all the requirements but i want to do it in the third year. Can i go from 88M to being a ranger before i reenlist or do i have to reenlist and sign up to be a ranger. after ive been a ranger for a few years i want to go to Special Forces.
