Will this chicken be safe to cook and eat?

I put some defrosted chicken, in a marinade, in a double ziplock bag in my fridge. To clarify my friend gave me the chicken as stated above. It has been in my fridge for 5 hours. I'm worried though that my temperature in the fridge was too low. I had it set at a 3.5 (coldest at 9) on one of the upper shelves and there was a lot of other food in the fridge as well. The outer bag itself was a bit cool to the touch but not cold. Any thoughts on if this is safe to cook and eat?
Thanks for the quick replies. I know absolutely nothing about cooking so that's why I'm worried the temp was too low and it warmed up in the fridge, especially with all the other food in there. No idea how long it has already been defrosted since my friend gave it to me to cook for tomorrow.
Oh, and I did sniff it and it smelled just fine.
