Will there be a great depression 2.0?

My family is upper-middle class. My father is in real estate. Should I be worried about the money we have put away for me and my sister's college, or should we be more worried about the price of bread? When will we start to really feel the effects of the economic collapse, and how long will it last?
 
I sure hope not. But I think there will be some hard times. We'll probably at least have a pretty bad recession, and unemployment will probably go up. I have 2 small kids, and I'm not rich. So I pray that nothing really bad happens to us. I don't want my kids to suffer. They are too young to understand what's happening with the economy.
