Will the Obama PLAN of CASH for CLUNKERS ACTUALLY MAKE the ENVIRONMENT WORSE?

Building a new car consumes energy. It is estimated that 6.7 tons of carbon are emitted in the process. So a driver who participates in the "cash for clunkers" program would need to make up for that wickedness. There are about 250 million registered vehicles in the United States. Only a micro-slither of those cars will be traded in -- and a slither of that number could be deemed "clunkers" outside the Beltway.

When you turn in your "clunker", the dealership crushes it and throws it and throws it in a landfill. That can't be good for the environment either....

If this works.. then I congratulate him.. and I don't like him at all.

For sure he is making his buddies the car manufacturers happy.. and it appears we are getting rid of a lot of old cars.. and new more environmentally safe ones will be on the road.

I wonder what the number is so far, that have actually taken up this deal.

I would say we have billions of cars in this country... a few thousand taking the offer will not help.. but we will see.

i will wait on this one!
