Will the GM bailout work?

Do you think the bailout of GM and Chrysler will work? Are you planning on purchasing a GM or Chrysler in 2009?
 
I doubt it will work.. Most Americans will still buy Japanese, which allow them to have their cars twice as long and give them half as much trouble. The only car I can see me buying from America is the Volt... I will never buy a Chrysler/Dodge product..
 
Short term...yes. They both have to rejuvenate their forgotten efforts to make hybrids and development of vehicles powered by hydrogen. Toyota and Honda have the edge because they did not stop R&R in these areas.

GM, Chrysler-Benz, and even Ford pushed their high profit SUV and pick up sales rather than pay attention to the rising price of fuel in the last 3 years.
