Will t mobile upgrade my messed up cliq?

i have a motorola cliq just got it around christmas last year still under year warranty and my phone gets messed up. but tmobile no longer sells the cliq. they sell the cliq xt. will they upgrade my phone for free to the cliq xt if i have to send it bak or will they still send me another cliq that is like refurbished or whatever. it will shut off randomly and freezes and no water damage or anything or scratches and stuff like that
