I was DQ'd at MEPS last month for the Air force for telling the doc i was allergic to Sulfa based antibiotics (largely in part thanks for my recruiter FOR NOT going over any medical stuff before going to MEPS..talk about lazyyyyy) .. I dont suffer anaphylaxis from it i just get palpitations sort of and they go away in 15min.. I'm now in process of enlisting in the Marines and hoping for some sort of a waiver and provided my recruiter a note from my doctor stating it's not an allergy per say, but rather i just suffer what i had mentioned just above ^^ and have zero limitations from holding me back in joining the Armed Forces. I'm really hoping this goes through as it would be a HUGE let down for me, my family before me has fought in WWII, Vietnam, etc.. and want to be the next gen. of my family to join the Marine Corps. Sulfa antibiotics are a pretty darn old medicine as well, and many other drugs suitable over that one.. so i've been told by nurses and a friend of my Father's whose been a nurse for 30+ years... anywho, Some insight on this would be great, thanks!
