Will studying astronomy help you in any way in the future?

Sorry everyone i just put up a question like this but it was astrology. i meant to put astronomy. but yes i want to study astronomy and i wanted to know if there are any jobs out there for that. and like what i have to study for in college. please help. btw i live in phoenix arizona so if anyone knows any vocational schools or colleges i can go to please list. thanks
 
Astronomy was a science that was originally embedded in Physics. You are in an area where you could learn a lot. You have one of the best dark skies in the country. My advice is look up your local science center, and see if they have a planetarium there. Or maybe look for an observatory in your area. People in our field enjoy working with kids who are interested. Volunteer one day a week, and work with some good people. The first step would be to learn your night sky, and once you do that you can get into other things that interest you. If you do this you'll get interested and get an idea what you would enjoy in Astronomy. People like to always through out NASA but remember there are other organizations out there that could help you in your journey. Arizona has many.
