Will stock be lost if GM files bankruptcy?

Is it possible for GM to file bankruptcy and people still keep their stock. Does their filing absolutely mean that the stock becomes worthless, or are there scenarios where it would be worth it to hang onto the stock, and just ride out the bankruptcy?
 
To ride out the bankruptcy is a losing proposition.
Hoping to buy it low in the event someone will buy them isn't such a bad idea but I've heard nothing of any deals being mentioned...
