Will Smith Wants to be 1st black bond

Do you think it would work?

Imo no, for starters why the hell would bond be American. P.Diddy would be crap and so would Jamie Fox, if they do go for a black bond I say use A British black actor.
 
The character creation was a white man, and always has been in every Bond film. That's the point, we are not saying a black man can't have the same job and be a fabulous spy. You can't just change all that with so much history to this film series.
 
What if Bond was originally a character always played by a black man and then someone decided to cast a white actor instead? Would you be so supportive of that idea?
 
Will Smith would not be James Bond, he would be Will Smith in a tuxedo.

If, for the sake of argument, and appeasing the right on brigade, we did have a black Bond, I'd go for the chap who played that MI6 agent in the Brosnan films. A safe and rather unimaginative choice, but I like him.




Not by me she wasn't. And besides, she'd also have to be a in a wheelchair. :D
 
After seeing Craig's last two Bond films, I kinda wish the franchise ended. I doubt whoever replaces him - be he white, dark, pink with green spots - will be that much better (and for the record, I think Craig was a fairly poor choice for the part). The films still take in the cash so they'll continue but the real movie Bond died when Cubby Broccoli passed on. The magic of Bond has gone. Having said that, it would be hilarious (for all the wrong reasons!) seeing Will Smith as Bond. :D :p
 
It may well be what he wants, but all the way through they have used actors from the British Isles, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland because that is the remit that they agreed to originally. They won't go for an actor like Smith (thank goodness)...he may be a box office hit but he's still "The Fresh Prince" not James Bond.
 
Well Daniel Craig isn't really Bond material - doesn't have the classic Bond look or the gentlemanly charm, yet people accept him in the role, so why not Will Smith -(although see my next paragraph for more on that!) I think the original version of the movie James Bond died when Pierce Brosnan left the role. Original movie Bond: 1962 - 2005.

An American James Bond would be rather insulting to a certain late Mr Ian Fleming. He created a British James Bond (half swiss/half Scottish parentage). An American James Bond would be like having a British Superman. So you can't have Smith or any other American playing Bond. It's not how Bond is meant to be.
 
Erm, George Lazenby was Australian.



I thought all the Daniel Craig hateres had eaten their humble pie by now. And surely if you don't believe Daniel Craig to be Bond, then it died under Pierce Brosnan's Die Another Day mess.
