will Sims 2 affect my laptops performance?

Why would a game affect the computer's performance. What made her to think like that? No a game will not affect the computers performance.
 
I have a macbook pro laptop and i wanted to download sims 2 on it.. will it affect my laptop???
will it make my mac slower or anything???
plz let me know cuz i duno if i should download it or not
 
My mom thinks the same thing, she thinks if I install sims 3 on her computer it will run slower and get viruses. Anywho, no it wouldn't only when the game is running will your computer be slower.
