will plastic/rubbery fishing worms affect a saltwater tank?

i was thinking of making my own fake sea anemone by bundling plastic/rubbery fishing worms together. does anyone know if the fishing tackle will affect a 20 gal & 55 gal saltwater tank. i've been soaking the plastic worms in a bucket of hot water.

i will just go buy a fake sea anemones
 
You never know what they put in lures. It's possible it could leach chemicals into the water. But i suppose if you boil it for awhile it would clean it well enough to use in an aquarium.
