Will my photoshop key for windows work for mac?

I have an education version of photoshop CS4 extended (expensive!!!) and it is for windows. I bought a macbook pro, and I want to install Photoshop on it, but the key is only for windows.... Is there any hope of using the key? or am I screwed and I have to get a new copy of Photoshop?
I've already erased everything off my Windows computer. Yes, I'm a good photographer and will not be using the key on multiple machines. I know the structure of the software is much different, as the operating systems are not very similar. I just don't want to run Windows on my Mac... Perhaps I can get a good deal on CS4 from my University...

It can use windows programs and all you have to do is install it, select install and pop in your adobe disc.
 
Well I'm assuming you're going to be a good person and remove it from your other system right? Truthfully I don't know if both mac and pc versions are on the same disks anymore since there are so many. It's not just a matter of the key, the code is different.
