Right now I have a two year contract with TMobile. However, it's actually my ex's account (his name only on contract). Of course, just to be mean, he wants to cancel my line (which he'll face a $200.00 penalty for doing it). I NEED to keep my Tmoble phone number. I understand Tmobile now has pre-paid services. If I go to TMobile's pre-paid service, will they transfer my contract line phone number over to their pre-paid service? In other words, I know if I went from let's say TMoble to Sprint or Verizon, my existing number would be transfered easily. But, being this is still TMobile, can my contract line number be transfered over to TMobile pre-paid line? Thank you.

You either didn't read what I wrote or misunderstood. I realize it's my ex's TMobile (contract) account. I have NO authority over whatsoever. Understood. What I'm wanting to do is go with TMobile's pre-paid cellular plan (under my name, of course). My question is: Can or will TMobile transfer my existing phone number over to the pre-paid plan.?? As an FYI: I am authorized to make/change anything I want on the contract plan as my ex has not 'yet' taken my name off of it. I'm just trying to be one step ahead so that when he makes the time to disconnect my (contract) service, I'm already using another phone-plan. I just need to keep the same number, that's all.
