Will my 1999 Pontiac Grand AM need a new timing chain (91K)?

I've heard that you're supposed to get a timing belt around 100,000 miles. Does this hold true for timing chains? I don't have any problems with my car. However, I'd like to avoid any future problems as I really love my Grand AM and anticipate having it for another 100,000 miles or so.
 
no that is not true for timing chains. you never have to replace them unless you drive like a idiot and take off from a light like a idiot as well. if u do than some vehicles have hard plastic gears or some other type of gears and they can strip and then you will have to touch the timing chain but other than that your good
 
Timing chains typically last the life of the car. Drive and enjoy.

If the chain does fail, the engine is of the non-interference type, so no valve/piston collision damage will occur.
