Will Matt Tracker be in G.I. Joe Renegades ?

This is something that randomly came up in a conversation that I think warrants some (fun) discussion.

Remember when Hasbro put out the special edition Matt Track Action Figure that tied G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K. together?

It makes me wonder if G.I. Joe Renegades is going to be bold enough to explore this link. It could make for some really interesting (and possibly lucrative) effect to the series.

I dunno; from what I've read about the figure, it was just a fun, one-off kind-of thing Hasbro did. I've even heard that even though Hasbro bought Kenner (the makers of the MASK toyline), they don't own all the rights to it, which is why the MASK logo on that G.I. Joe Matt Trakker figure has the organization spelled out, and not as an acronym. It would also explain stuff why they didn't make a Miles Mayhem figure who would be working for Cobra.

Also, there's the issue of who owns the rights to the 80s MASK cartoon. If Hasbro owned them lock.stock, and barrel they'd probably be airing on The Hub even as we speak, but since it isn't, we can assume they don't.

DiC (now Cookiejar) owns the limited rights to the 80s series, but as I understand it, Hasbro owns the rights to the series itself.

Its much the same idea behind Hasbro owning the transformers line while Mainframe (now Dreammaker) owns the Beast Wars line.

Unless I am way off page here, Hasbro should be able to make a new series or completely melt the MASK series into G.I. Joe if they desire.

That being said, I am unsure if Hasbro could create an entirely new M.A.S.K. series. Starting it off as part of G.I. Joe then spinning it off later may have the most positive effect focusing on only 1 or M.A.S.K. Foundation members throughout all of G.I. Joe (like Matt Tracker and Buddy Hawks) and having Miles Mayhem show cased as a major member of V.E.N.O.M.
