Will ITV ever admit Daybreak is a disaster?

How right you are. He's absolutely useless - can't manage anything without sitting forward to read the autocue - does he need glasses?

They should get rid of him and bring back Andrew Castle.... and Penny Smith!

The show does have a bit of Big Breakfast in the show all ready, they have Four Poofs and a Piano singing a topical song at the end on the friday which is what the BB used to do.

Big Breakfast was crazy & brilliant looking back on it, it was a fun way to wake up - Zig & Zag in the bathroom, Paula on the bed, Chris & Gabby wandering about a house rather than a set and then strolling in to the garden for a random quiz..... bloody genius looking back on it and then Johnny & Denise took over and they kept the zany approach going..... it has gotta have a place as the opposite approach to BBC Breakfast & Sky Sunrise and would attract a younger audience and a lots of family viewing.

Presenters ??? I dunno...... who?

I thought Daybreak was alright at first but Adrian and Christine just aren't working. They look SO uncomfortable and everything that comes from them is so forced.

I don't miss any of the former GMTV presenters (except maybe Emma - she was okay) because they were far too loud and faux cheerful first thing in the morning, but Daybreak itself has turned out to be very poorly thought out indeed.

It will be interesting to see when ITV have no choice but to admit defeat on it.

I totally agree but cant ever see ITV doing such a thing! I think ITV want to be taken too seriously perhaps?..but with a dash of humour and they thought Adrian with Christine would supply them with that

If they did that I would bet you ratings would triple to what they are now.
I'd be watching - I don't watch the crap they have on there now with mr potato head and Mr Ed the horse presenting.

I don't think it's as much the format but it's more the presenters. Adrian is a miserable git in the mornings and something tells me Christine is starting to get bored of it now.

When Dan and Kate presented the other day, the show felt more at ease. Perhaps ITV were wrong to demote Garroway.

Also I don't see the need for the programme to have separate correspondents to those from ITV News.

I guess the only thing ITV can do is bring as many GMTV elements back to Daybreak, that, barring the name, they're effectively just bringing back GMTV and saving a *little* face.

They'll never beat BBC News for the simple fact people switch over during the aRAB and leave it running when they're getting ready for work or whatever - Breakfast TV isn't a show you sit and concentrate on.

I quite like it. Maybe a little to light and not serious enough but I do like it. Adrian, brilliant, Christine very nice to look at, Kate Garraway, very yummy!

Loved it the other week when they had that acident prone dog on with his owners, who had 10 grand spent on him to save his life and Adrian told him to be grateful! That was excellent and so funny!

I was kinda thinking the same thing but the dog looks like he was in a world of his own, kinda cute as well that dog was.
