will it be bad if i run a 250rms sub off of a 300 watt amp at full power?

i have an mtx 250watt rms sub and a jackhammer 300 mono amp, if i play the sub at 300 watts will it eventually break? or
 
You will be fine. Music is dynamic. You won;t be getting the full 300 watts all of the time. It's not like turning on a light switch, where the wattage is constant. When you turn on an amp, the wattage fluctuates with the peaks and troughs in the music.
