Will insurance pay for ANY tow on my car?

I was working on my car at a auto hobby shop and ended up screwing the engine up pretty bad. My car is disabled and pushed into a parking lot. Can I easily get insurance to pay for the tow to a mechanic I already have in mind which is 2 towns over? Or do these tows only cover side of the road and in distress type of ordeals?

I could easily just say that I was driving in the street and the car died right?

Also, whats the procedure for using insurance to pay for the tow?
 
Need to check policy or call insurance agent. AAA makes you call a AAA towing service or they won't pay. My insurance policy has $75 limit.
