Will Ichiro Suzuki get 3000 hits?

it seems pretty impossible when you think about it. if he can stay healthy another 9 years and keep up his current pace of 200 hits per season, then yes.

Very unlikely. He is on the wrong side of 35. Age will really start to show in about two years and he'll slow down.

The way I see it he already has 3,000 hits. He had 1,278 hits in NPB in Japan. This league is considered a professional baseball league and considering the Americas showing in the World Baseball Classic I wouldnt discount these hits. Then he also has 2,030 hits in the MLB. That comes to a grand total of 3,308.

Basically, Ichiro is a hits machine. And if he played his whole career in the MLB he would definitely have had 3,000 MLB hits. The way it stands now he will need to play for about 10 more years to break 3,000 MLB hits. This is unlikely but possible. I expect him to play at his current abilities for at least 5 more years but saying he's going to be a 200 hit guy every year from when he's 40-45 years old is hard to imagine. I'll guess we'll see in due time.

Overall, Ichiro has amassed over 3,000 hits in professional baseball. They just weren't all in the MLB. First ballot HOFer all the way.

Barring major injury, yes... and easily, or at least as easily as 3000 hits ever arrives.

A mere 3k? Feh! I wanna see him take down Rose.

More than likely, barring injury. Because he's a contact hitter he wont lose much as he ages, the way a power hitter tends to lose the strength to pound the ball. I would say he has a 95% chance of getting 3,000 hits.
