i'm looking to lose about 30 lbs as fast as possible. i don't really enjoy running, so i was thinking about cycling. i am willing to ride as long and as far as need be, but is it worth it? will i lose the weight?

If you want to lose it as fast as possible you must diet and run. Yes running is harder, that's why you don't really enjoy it. When it is more work (harder) you will lose more weight.

Why not do both? Run to the point that you can tolerate it and supplement your workouts on the bike.

Running is harder and will burn more calories. Cycling is also good but it depends on how hard you ride. What ever exercise you chose you want to be working hard enough to get your breathing to the point where you can still talk but not sing. It will take several weeks before you start to see results, it takes time to increase you metabolism and burn a lot more calories. Diet is very important, it's much too easy to out eat any exercise you do to burn off calories.

i would say you lose weight at the same time because when you are running it will be harder work but you won't go as far as you would if you were on a bike so if you go long distance on a bike everyday you will lose weight very fast
