Will I go to jail for fighting a 14 year old and I am 17?

I fought a 14 year old because I did not know how old she was! She messaged me on myspace first and said she would fuck me up and i felt threatened. We had words and she continued to text my phone and say meet her at the park. I was at the park and she came to the park. She approached me and we fought and she got beat up and then called the police. The police came to my house and talked to me about it but didnt say anything about me going to jail......what will happen most likely
 
Sounds like she picked the fight, but it probably depends on how far you went in fighting her. Self defense is one thing, but if you kept on after she stopped you could be in real trouble. Also how big is she, how big are you. I'm 40 and wouldn't stand a chance against most 14 year olds. I'm smaller than the average 10 year old. Anyway there are a lot of factors involved here that you don't mention. Unfortunately you will most likely have to wait for everything to play out. Still it wouldn't hurt to try and get some legal counsel. I think most places will give an initial free consultation.
