Will I get hungry if I am vegetarian during camp?

I have been a vegetarian for about a week and will go to camp soon. To make sure I am not taking any chances, I am not going to eat meat to prevent feeling sick at camp (since I will be used to vegetarian diet).

I think they have beans, but we will be going on hikes, and I want to know if I will feel weak or hungry easily.
Good suggestion on the snack, but to avoid bugs, the camp has a REALLY strict no-food-brought-along policy. If I bring food, it is possible that my organization might never be able to use that camp again.

I worked in a camp kitchen awhile ago, and we were required to have meal plans for any kids with dietary restrictions that would be safe for them if the meal we were serving regularly wouldnt be. (The kids with dietary restrictions were kids with allergies, lactose intollerant, or yes, vegetarian) so I think as long as you tell the camp that you're a vegetarian they will have to prepare vegetarian meals for you.

If you've only been a vegetarian for a week, I would go back to meat before you go to camp. If not, contact the camp and see if they will provide vegetarian meals for you. You might just want to stock up on protein bars.

Try contacting the camp, most camps have to have the vegetarian/vegan options.Other wise if they don't you could ask them too, I'm sure they will have the options available.

Considering our body gets energy mostly from the carbohydrates we eat, not the protein, you should be fine.
Just make sure you aren't under eating on the trip. Maybe you could pack some snack bars (like Clif bars or Luna bars) just in case they don't have enough food for you there.

Have fun!
