can you say " fuel injection lean burn"?
can you say "catalytic converter" ?
wouldn't it be easiser for HD to scrap their giant V Twin engine that spews out too much HC and design a more modern design and smaller engine just so they can meet the new EPA Standards?
notice my green hard hat? thats because i'm green, I believe in global warming and I don't want to breathe your HD exhaust and I will fight to have all HD's removed from the roads if I have too!
ranger? I hate HD because they refused to give me credit on a new HD with $5000 down. but to throw gasoline on the fire the dealer publicly shamed and laughed at me in front of other customers and threw me out of the store

Quit your belly-aching about the amount of exhaust gasses that come out of my motorcycle. Why don't you look at things like city buses that spew loads of black exhaust gasses every time they start moving?

Harley has already put fuel injection on every machine that they make. FI will always give better EPA emissions than a carb.

If HD doesn't meet the new standards, then they won't be selling any machines.

Why don't you tell us why you hate HD so much. Did some big bad biker on a Harley steal your girl? Do something to your mom? Come into your kitchen and pee in your wheaties? Did you ever consider that maybe if you didn't spew so much hate, you wouldn't get flamed on here so much?

Well Bart, HD does not conduct their own financing. They go through Eagle Mark Financial Services, those are the folks who turned you down. The fact that the GM of the dealership you went to did that, is not something that HD can control. They should be made aware of the situation. Maybe you should try securing financing from your normal financial institution before walking into a different dealership. You will also get a better interest rate.
If you are like a lot of folks, when younger, they make a few, shall we say, bad financial decisions which affect your ability to gain financing later on down the road. I wont say that everybody does it.

And yes, I do have an engineering degree from MIT.
 
....even though your question is just a re-hashing of the same question you posted some weeks ago and WAS answered ( I saw where some guy already told you how your hero Obama LOVES Harley Davidson as much or more than GM and will do anything to help them,-he gave a free pass, and the transportation secretary and her husband actually ride a Harley) this isn't about wondering about the real issue, its all about spewing your malevolent hostility towards HD in all its forms because your feelings are hurt. this is the place you think its OK to vent and rant throw a hissy fit. right? NO! this is not the place to take your grievances, and complaints. you are wrong and horribly misguided.

I hope no one meets these stupid standards. In the name of BS science: global warming, EPA, CAFE & emission standards are made by idiot politicians believing in a fairytale.
Bring back muscle cars, the rumble, the horsepower; drill here & now than watch American auto industry start making a profit.

As far as Harley (or any other company) is concerned, yeah they will have to or be put out of business by this insane administration & then we will all be using vehicles make in a foreign country that doesn't have to follow the climat change laws. Obama will appoint a 'standards czar' to have under paid mechanics update the overseas make junkers to meet US standards. Finally we will hold hands, worship mother earth, sing Kum By Ya, ride rice burners & be broke. What is happening to America? Screw tree huggers & their madness. Now go protest big oil, save a whale, plant a tree, use mercury ridden light bulbs & get a life.
