Will GM replace a catalytic converter on my 2002 Impala?

The dealership says the warranty is limited to 8 years/80,000 miles, but I am finding info on the internet stating that the warranty was extended to 10 years/ 120,000 miles. My car has 90,000 miles. It will cost $550.00 if I have to pay. Is the dealership trying to rip me off?
 
Forget Gm, go just buy one from a non gm mufler outlet ,midis, etc it will only cost approx $300,car will go just as good.
