Will gay marriage destroy the gay lifestyle?

I'm gay but what's up with gay people wanting to get married all of the sudden. I support gay marriage as a right but I would never do it. I heard on some tv program that although almost all gay men support legalizing gay marriage that the majority wouldn't do it themselves. Is this correct?

I enjoy having casual sex now and then. Occasionally I like to go to the bookstore and stick my d*** through the hole in the wall for a quicky. I can't even imagine how I would feel if the bath houses disappeared. And how about the gay bars? I don't want those institutions to disappear.

I don't want to go to a gay couple's house for their kids birthday party. I have enough freakin nieces and nephews of my own. If I go to a gay party there needs to be hot guys and alcohol there not kids celebrating their birthday.

I don't get it. I have no desire to have kids or to marry another guy. If gay marriage gets legalized I just hope there aren't too many gays who get married because I don't want the gay lifestyle destroyed.

So seriously, will gay marriage affect the gay lifestyle and our gay institutions? How many gay people are estimated to get married if gay marriage passes? Will I still be able to whore around or will I be pressured to marry someone?

Thanks.

LMAO! I love Hucka's response. Marriage is just something we deserve the right to have, not something that everyone is going to do. It is not for everyone.

you confuse me. just because there is straight marriage it doesn't mean that straight people don't go get drunk and have causal sex. it's an option, if people want to quit "gay lifestyle" (although i don't like that term it implies that all gay guys like to whore around when they don't) and get married they can go for it, if they want to go to a gay bar they will... and i'm pretty sure a lot still will.

I see what you mean. You do realize though that gay bars and clubs were created because of the prejudicial attitudes of the day.

With each day, more and more people are becoming more accepting. So the whole idea behind those places is fading.

Also, the term "gay lifestyle" irked me and I don't know why ..

No, I really don't think that gay marriage will affect it.

If anything, I think that the culture right now, in trying to fight for gay marriage, is more likely to cause the changes you talk about, as we try to whitewash our community of anything that might make us seem unsavory in the eyes of the conservatives and anti-gay people, who will latch onto anything negative.

But once gay marriage is in place (and not able to be voted away), I think it will actually free us up to accepting more diversity.

it wouldn't affect shit.
even if some of us are getting married, it is your right to keep doing the things you enjoy doing...
just because i get married doeSn't mean i wil force my slutty friends to do it, or to come to my kids' birth day parties...

happy Whorring ^_^
