I've had no evidence of disease since going into remission for Hodgkin's Lymphoma more than seven months ago, and feel fantastic most of the time. I'm just concerned because my immune system still seems to be weak. Right now I have a terrible sinus infection, and last month I had the flu. Last fall I had strep throat, an inner ear infection that was really painful, a stomach bug, and a cold. It's just absurd. I'm moving into the dorms in September and am concerned about being a human sponge picking up all the germs. It seems like every time I come back from spending the weekend on campus I get sick. Before I had HL I was incredibly healthy. I did have mono when I was 13-14, but I never missed a single day of school from kindergarten up until that point. It's frustrating that I'm sick all the time now.
Will this put me more at risk for relapsing? Did anyone else get sick more often after going through treatment for cancer?
