Will ferrel's Elf on Channel 4

Elf is premiering on terrestrial on sunday , channel 4 but aren't they showing it a bit early. I would have preferred to see it on Christmas eve or christmas day cos it would have felt more chrismassy while watching it.
 
I watched it on DVD last night and will probably watch it again nearer xmas anyway. Though maybe I shouldn't have because now I have this yearning to put up my decs and it's way to early :)
