Will ending the war on drugs help solve some of the illegal immigration problem?

Alot of illegal immigrants come to the U.S. to sell drugs. Besides the fact that the war on drugs isn't working at all and does not deter drug use, it also creates an underground black market and is the reason we have many cartels entering the U.S. Would it be a good idea then to legalize drugs to help decrease illegal immigration and organized crime?

And I know I'll get at least one goofy answer saying that if you legalize drugs there will be more cartels. Don't make me laugh. When alcohol Prohibition started in the 1920's, mobsters went around dealing alcohol. When Prohibition ended, those mobsters stopped dealing alcohol. Basic common sense can make this easy to figure out.
Change? - how?
