Will empty cities promote biodiversity when civilization collapses?

not to sound like a pessimist but civilization is going to collapse, and probably very soon.

when i look at pictures of megalopolyses i see fascinating structures that have defied gravity that rise out the earth.

i feel like even though we advocate our planet's destruction we are also building great habitats for a new form of ecosystem that will gradually take over our cities as we perish.

could this be true?
what kind of plants and animals will live in them

Thanks for the heads up about civilization collapsing and all that. Now I can plan my survivalist strategy to live in the woods and live by trapping and raiding the campsites of newly dispossessed humans. Hope I see you out there.
