Will cops facebook/myspace stalk you to gather evidence of you breaking the law

in teh past? Ok, so hundreds of my friend talk about drinking/smoking/drugs and have pictures of doing that on the web. some people strongly hint that people do that. Can cops add that to your court case? Do they even go on teenagers facebook.
