will candles give your IR more depth compared to the IR sensor bar?

okay well i think i will stay with the origanl ones..... just what we need now. idoit playing bowling breaks strap, throws remote into candle and burns the house down

The sensor bar sends NO information or commands to the Wii. The only reason it is plugged into it is for power.

All it does it send out IR light, via IR LEDs, and the remote tracks them to get a relative idea of where the TV is compared to the Wiimote.

This is good news for projectors because you can have a "wireless" Sensor bar, which runs on Double A's.

The candles, letting off heat from the flame (fire !=heat) is tracked as IR light, because it is hot.

This lets the Wiimote track and work correctly.

Cliffs: Sensor Bar useless, no need except for a pretty IR LED holder.
