Will at&t unlock a t-mobile phone for me?

I have an account with at&t and i don't want to break my contract.but i want the sidekick, If i buy a sidekick at the retail price from t-mobile and bring it over to at&t will they unlock it for me? will they charge me?
 
probably not. I couldn't get verizon to put a verizon phone in a contract. because of some bs with chips and hardware.

My boyfriend wanted the i phone, but was unable to because only at&t did the iphone.

You should call at&t and ask them first. Normally they can suggest their version of the sidekick. it wont be the same, but it will look similar and do the same thing.

Don't buy anything first.

AT&T should unlock it for you. If you already have a contract with them, they would want you to stay with them, not transfer over to T-Mobile just for the Sidekick, right?

They should, unless there are legal copyrights involved.

They should not charge you.

Don't buy the sidekick, this phone came unlockeable from T-Mobile, I already called them and told me that. Tmobile can unlock any cellphone but not the sidekick. I already unlock a Nokia 1661, they give you the unlock codes for free because you pay for the phone. (that is a excellent company policy)

I request the unlock code cause I am in south america.
