I'm tire shopping and on unemployment, but desperate for tires, and wondered if any tire TYPE would work for the 15" tire size on there now.
I looked it up on Discount Tire, and my size is 15" for that type of car.

no you have to get the same size that came with your vehicle. or something equivalent.

if your desperate for a good deal, look for used tires. check on www.craigslist.com, www.kijiji.com, or your local scrap yard. check in your yellow pages, you might find some tire shops that sell used tires.

no. you need the ones which will fit the width of the rim and the depth of the wheel well...
the type is a different matter tho as you can have a sears tire on it now and get a uniroyal instead or an all season instead of snow tires, etc..., but all 4 shhould be the same, especially on newer cars, as in newr than 1980.

Type yes. Size. no. there is a specific size that is on the tires. You need to get this size because you obviously don't know enough about them to get a different size that would work.

Tire size is totally dependent on wheel size. You have to consider both wheel diameter and width.

When changing wheel size, you also consider number of holes (screws) and make sure the tire won't touch any part of the body even while steering.

Recapped tires are cheaper than brand new tires. They are more dangerous though so drive slower with them.
