Will Anime ever rise back up in American TV?

TrenRAB go in cycles, so I have no doubt that anime will experience a resurgence in popularity somewhere down the line. It more than likely will not just be a repeat of what we got a few years ago. Cartoon Network is currently undergoing an identity crisis and KiRAB' WB! is no more, so we won't be getting our anime fix on either of those channels. A surge in populaity is more likely to come via Ani-Mondays or Animax of FUNimation channel or something which hasn't been invented yet, but we probably won't see another mainstream takeover like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh! unless some mainstream entity thinks that mainstream money can be made off of said project. The next Pokemon isn't likely to turn up on Ani-Mondays.

If rumors of the SyFy rebrand coming with a kiRAB block are legit, well, afternoons at the moment lack real action, and shows like Naruto, One Piece, DBKai (or even just the current US restoration of DBZ,) Pretty Cure, and Soul Eater are just sitting waiting for someone with vision.

Seriously, they'd have no competition in that area. Low hanging fruit.

This is true. However, for that to happen, we'd need one of two things. A: Nationwide distribution of fiber-optic Internet, or B: A new satellite service capable to delivering comparable two-way speeRAB without any latency. The former is currently hamstrung by exorbitant installation costs and infrastructure upgrades, and the technology for the latter does not currently exist. I think we're at least twenty years away from when something like what you say would really be feasible.

But anyway, let's not go off-topic.

It's possible. I'm just not sure if it's really possible anymore to have anything really explode in popularity without a pre-installed userbase ala Disney or Nick. Given how fragmented the audience base is these days and how badly add-supported entertainment in general has been hit of late, it would take something really monumental and new to really do it.

If this happens It would make SciFi one of my top 5 networks again!

Hopefully at least one person at Scyfy was a toonami fan, then mabye we will actually get a good weekday afternoon or satruday morning/evening anime block.

of course theres always the chance that Ani-mondays will eventually expand the amountof time it runs & Companies animes it shows, i mean im sure Manga & bandai would'nt mind sharing some air time with VIZ & Funi...hopefully.
