For my wedding centerpieces I want to put a beta fish in a vase and top it with a single tiger lily! Will the tiger lily be poisonous to the fish? Will the fish we able to live?

I don't think a tiger lily will kill a betta, but there is a more important issue. What are you going to do with all the fish after your wedding? Can you ensure that they are going to go to good homes? To people who know how to take care of them and are prepared for that? Or are you going to return them?

I agree that you should stick with just flowers. Even though your idea sounds cool, animals should not be used in that way. I think you can come up with very nice centerpieces that do not involve using live animals!

Good luck with your wedding and congrats :)

The lily won't directly kill the fish but being used as an ornament around your drunken relatives will. Have you not seen the youtube videos of such fish centrepieces being swallowed whole as drunken dares?

Stick with just the flowers as centrepieces, using live animals as ornaments is in extremely bad taste. God forbid you have a member of your family in PETA come to the reception...

You shouldn't involve fish in your centerpieces. Also putting a fish in a circular or spherical shaped bowl or vase is very bad for the fish' eyes. This causes blindness.

And even though obviously the tiger lily won't be permanent, adding organics to a bowl or tank that isn't air filtered isn't a good idea as the plant rots much faster and causes problems for the water.
