Will a pc keyboard and mouse work on a imac?

My friend wants a imac (blueberry) and was wondering if his pc's keyboard and mouse will work on it. please help!

Will a p/2 keyboard and mouse work on the Imac?
PS/2 mouse and keyboard not p/2
 
If your friend is buying an older crt type G3 iMac, and it is running MacOs X and has at least 256 mb of ram, any USB type keyboard and mouse will fit it. I have used Dells etc. with no problem.
