Mercedes 260 SE petrol? I am considering buying a Mercedes 260 se W126 1988 with a tired engine. I do have a good 300 diesel 6 cylinder engine from a 1990 300D. I am not too familiar with the Mercedess as I haven't dabbled with them in many years. Can anybody tell me if the diesel engine will fit the petrol auto box? Is the bell housing the same, will the mounts bolt up? Will The diesel torque convertor fit the splines on the petrol box?
I have done a few diesel conversions of other cars in my time but not the Mercedes.
