YES it will void your warranty. The only way to not void your warranty is to have the dealership you got it from do it themselves.
This insures them that it has been installed properly, this is to save their butts if the car has a problem in the near future under the warranty.
The downfall to having them do the job is the price, and if it is or is not available to apply that accessary. Hope this helps
