will a iphone work with sprint/nextel network?

i want to take my sims card out of my nextel phone and put it in a prepaid iphone.

nope, I work at Sprint and I can tell you it won't.

Sprint/nextel doesn't have sim cards.. even if they did, you would have to unlock the iphone, and never be able to update it. So no it will not work properly with sprint or nextel.

Any Sprint/Nextel phone that does have a SIM card is using iDEN network, not GSM and it will NOT work in a GSM device
