Will a first generation mazda 6 stereo play copied cds?

Im looking to buy a mazda 6 in a few weeks most likely the first generation (02-07) however i have read from one of the mazda forums that the stereos (both standard and bose upgrade) will not play copied/burnt cds or that they will but often leads to jamming and not recognizing that a disk is inserted.
Im looking on the UK market if that makes a difference as i know the models vary particularly between EU and US
Can anyone confirm this rumour?
Also im finding mixed opinions on how to connect an ipod to said stereo anyone with a good guide and diagrams would also be great

I'm in the US and used to own a '02 Mazda 5. I would assume that the factory CD player would be the same.

My CD player used to play most, but not all burned CD's. Certain brands (I cannot remember which exactly) would never play but others would. Sometimes a brand that usually worked would not read.

My solution to this was to find a brand that worked 99.9% of the time and only buy that brand of CD's. For me, it wasn't that the stock stereo wouldn't play burned CD's at all, but moreso that it wouldn't play ALL burned CD's.
