WILL A `91 FORD EXPLORER 4.0 ENGINE WORK IN A 1996 FORD EXPLORER THAT HAD A 4.0 ENGINE ?

i have a 1996 explorer that blew a head gasket i think the cylinder has a crack in it a friend of mind will to sell me the engine from his wrecked '91 explorer i was think in it might work but not 100% sure anyone know ??? think i might have to reuse some of the engine accessory s
 
make sure the bolts fit when securing the engine to your chassis and the clutch/gearbox matches teh old engine. (try getting the gearbox too, if it is on good condition)
