will a 25 horsepower suzuki 4-stoke work on a 17ft. wood boat.?

The boat is custom made and is about 600 pounds I really dont want to build a consol on the boat and put a 40 on it. I would like to just get a 25 hp. suzuki 4-stroke with tiller arm, clamp on and go. The boat is a flat bottom boat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

It won't be a speed boat but it should be able to move you around.
